Starting your School’s e-Learning Plan - an NCTE course

CPD image Post primary teachers in particular might be interested in this short NCTE course (2.5 hours), given the recent allocation of ICT funding to post primary schools and in-service seminars for principals on e-Learning. It aims to help schools start the process of developing their e-Learning plan and was designed for primary and post primary principals, ICT co-ordinating teachers and all other teachers interested in developing their school’s e-Learning plan. NCTE: Technology Integration Initiative

advice image NCTE is committed to providing schools with the most relevant and up to date ICT information and advice they need to support learning and teaching in schools. It has a range of advice and information on purchasing frameworks. These frameworks are used every day to purchase equipment such as computers, notebooks/laptops, short throw digital projectors and laser printers. There is also a range of 'Advice Sheets' covering visualisers, interactive whiteboards, wireless networks and other topics.

NCTE: In-service seminars for post-primary principals

The NCTE organised a nationwide programme of in-service seminars for post-primary principals on planning for ICT in your school in November 2010. Some additional seminars have now been scheduled on a regional basis to facilitate those principals who could not attend as follows:

NCTE: Scoilnet

Christmas imageScoilnet reaches the million

Usage of the Scoilnet resource finder hit the million mark in 2010. Our figures show that for the 12 months to the end of December users made some 1,014,364 views of resources in our database. All resources contained on Scoilnet are reviewed by Irish teachers for their potential use in the curriculum.

internet safety imageSafer Internet Day is part of a global drive to promote a safer Internet for all users, especially young people. The 8th Safer Internet Day will be celebrated on 8th February 2011 in many countries across the world, including Ireland. Webwise will highlight Irish events.
